Sandwiches

When students are in class the Hope House has a kitchen full of  self serve meals. This includes bread, lunch meat, cheese, homemade desserts and more. Countless students seek refuge at the Hope House during their busy school day.
*Statistics about college students and hunger come from the UTC Office of Dean of Students according to a recent study and https://studentsagainsthunger.org/hunger-on-campus/

SYNDEO
SYNDEO an open, affirming, spiritual community for exploration, conversation, service and caring.  Led by those committed to Jesus, we nonetheless welcome a variety of spiritual perspectives.  Our gathering of 12-20 participants is diverse in age, race, economics, sexual orientation and gender identity.  Most of us find ourselves outside of mainstream church and culture.  We have a myriad of questions and doubts, hopes, convictions and fears, but we are drawn together by friendship and love.    On Sundays we meet for a Pot-luck Brunch, Conversation and Prayer here at Hope House.
We serve people and the city in places like the Community Kitchen, Welcome Home Chattanooga, Renaissance Day Camp and in our neighborhoods.  We advocate for LGBTQ concerns, public education, and the needs of folks on the margins.   We laugh together, play together…..and just have fun!

Hebrew Bible Exegesis Study
This is an in depth biblical study of the book of Genesis beginning with Genesis 1:1. Together we'll study literary and historical contexts in which these ancient texts were written, as well as, discern how the original Hebrew language might best be interpreted based on what we learn. The ongoing product will be our original translations of this beautifully written ancient text. No homework necessary!

the table*
Join us for weekly dinner and Bible Study. We use the Narrative Lectionary text for that Sunday and discern together how the Holy Spirit might be speaking to us, the community, and the world.
*the table is modeled after the understanding that at God's table all are welcomed and affirmed in our identity, and nothing, no one nor institution can ever separate us from the love of God. The Hope House celebrates diversity and difference as gifts.
